The 6-Pin J1708 female connector is with a locking ring. Rotating the locking ring to the right place after plugging to a 6-Pin J1708 male receptacle assures that the connector won’t come unplugged accidentally.
The end of OBD2 female connector is right angle 90-degree.

Application
This adapter will allow OBD2 diagnostic devices or scanners or fault code readers (with the appropriate software) to connect to commercial vehicles with the 6-Pin J1708 diagnostic ports in medium and heavy duty vehicles model years from the early-to-mid-2000s.
It can also be used to connect telematics or fleet management devices such as GPS Trackers to J1708 6 pin round diagnostic ports.
